Goe System compliments the PANTONE MATCHING SYSTEM
Pantone's original system was created to communicate the popular colors of the day back when the system was first created. PMS color selections grew over time in a more or less random format, as the market requested additional "popular" colors. When you view the PMS colors as a group, compared to the Goe System colors, you will notice a more random pattern of the PMS color relationships and you will notice broader gaps between color gradations.
Pantone creates Goe as a new and improved color matching system
In its ground breaking tradition, Pantone created the Goe System which includes a wider selection of 2,058 Goe colors versus 1,114 PMS colors. The 2,058 colors within the Goe System are more closely chromatically arranged into 165 color families. Giving you more options in subtle shade changes and broader selections of color families. The color selection is almost twice as large as PMS, and Goe is arranged more logically.
The Goe System consists of three main components, the GoeGuide, GoeSticks and myPANTONE palette software, making this system superior to any other color matching system.
