Professional Guillotine Paper Cutting Service
Paper cutting is a delicate process requiring skill and experience. It is important to have top quality guillotine cutting equipment and experienced operators to ensure the best quality cut that is square, dust free and the proper size. With our state of the art converting and distribution center located in the heart of the Paper Valley in Wisconsin you can be assured of top quality cutting from experienced paper professionals. Our Polar guillotine paper cutter assures a worry free paper cutting experience.
All paper is not created equal
It is important that we know the differences of each paper grade and how these papers should be handled to achieve superior quality paper cutting. As an example, high gloss or cast coated paper requires a newly sharpened blade with the proper blade angle for a clean cut. What is known as back trimming is essential to prevent creating rough or dusty edges on high gloss papers. Translucent papers require a slightly used trimmer blade honed to a specific angle along with the proper temperature and humidity environment which is essential when handling specialty paper. The Paper Mill Store maintains a balanced ambient environment by controlling the humidity levels and temperature of our converting and distribution center with a target of 68 degrees and 45% Rh.

As founder of The Paper Mill Store, I believe that environmental responsibility is a multifaceted effort, and as a company, we are doing our best to make sustainable, smart choices. We use 100% wind power, through the purchase of wind power credits, to meet the electricity needs of our company; we offset 100% of the carbon produced by our outbound shipping; we offer FSC papers, SFI papers and recycled papers and we are FSC & SFI Chain of Custody certified.
In addition, we actively seek ways to reduce our energy usage and utilize more and higher percentage recycled materials in our packaging. We also encourage our suppliers to offer more recycled paper and to employ more energy saving processes, while continuing to provide you, our customer, with the best paper choices possible.
As a long-time paper company executive, I take environmental and sustainability issues seriously, and I am personally very proud of our industry’s (and our) voluntary efforts to make more environmentally responsible choices and to make real substantiated changes in our collective business practices. I hope you find the information on sustainable paper helpful, and I wish you the very best in pursuing your own environmental goals.
