If you start to make it here again, I am very sure that artists, writers, fountain pen advocates, and lots of folks will be very happy. Think about it!
Fountain pens: Fine, Broad, Flex, no bleed though.
Fantastic stuff. I would buy another ream of it if one ream weren't enough to last me several lifetimes. :)
Still, for kids and adults with imagination, onion skin paper is a very versatile, creative, and flexible tool across many varied arts projects.
I write a lot of long letters and the lightness of the paper keeps the postage cost down.
I only had a bit of feathering with a very wet writing Fountain pen, all the other fountain pens worked fine, however.
Great paper, I will be buying it again when this ream runs out.
It runs beautifully through my old manual typewriters. I have gone through over half the case and without an error. When this carton runs low I will be sure to order 2 more as I can't seem to get enough of this product.
Thank you for making this product available to the masses and thus me.
I ordered the paper so I could print a large number of pages but still fit them in a skinny portfolio.
The printing process was quite painful. Most laser printers would only print a page or two before jamming (the jams where often cause because the paper is so thin that either multiple sheets got pulled in together and one of them went off track or only some of the feed rollers grabbed the paper, causing it to twist and to crumple)
Amazingly, even though it often jammed the paper never ripped, it would always pull out of the printer whole (... covered with uncooked toner).
I had the best luck with a tiny home laser printer (the hp laserjet 1100) it has an almost straight down feed, and I could often get 20 or so pages through before I had a jam.
The pain, however, had a payoff. The pages I did get through were beautiful, it really is amazing paper. I mounted 36 printed pages 2 hole paper wallet (a "goldfold"), and everyone I showed it to was just amazed by the paper (both visually and tactilely - slightly clear, makes a "crinkling" sound when handled, slightly sticky to the touch)
All in all its good stuff.
The quality of this paper is excellent. Made of 100 percent cotton, its strength is surprising for its weight and it takes ink very well without feathering.
This paper has surpassed all my expectations and am going to order several cases before the end of the summer.
It was less expensive than similar papers in craft and specialties stores. I've been happily using the paper every day and while at first I thought it was a little flimsy, after typing the ink looks really good on the paper.
I'm thinking about buying a couple more reams to make sure I don't run out!
Tears out easy when finished sewing. Can rip out mistakes and sew again.
Great for PP bullets in my Gibbs long range and Sharps cartridge !
Most modern papers, especially those made from recycled material, are unfortunately horrible for fountain pens and inks. The ink feathers, spreads, and bleeds through; and the papers themself shed fibers that get stuck in the tines of the pen's nib.
I wasn't sure how this paper would act with fountain pens and ink, so I ordered a sample pack first. I was absolutely blown away! This paper is about as perfect as paper can get! It's lightweight for those overseas letters, and it has happily taken all varieties of inks from many different makes of pens with absolutely no bleed-through and no feathering. It is pure joy to use! I was so happy with my samples, I ordered a ream.
Onion skin paper is scarcer than hens' teeth, so I was both flabbergasted and delighted to find a place that still sells it; and I was even more delighted to discover that it's absolutely WONDERFUL to use with my fountain pens. I've been recommending this paper to my pen pals, all of whom have been impressed with its beautiful finish and the way it takes ink. (We like very white paper because it shows off the colors of our inks, and this paper shows them exquisitely!)
Please don't ever stop carrying this paper!
